The largest drugs seizure in Greece: 10 million pills of Captagon hidden in a container at Piraeus Port

Greek authorities seized 10 million pills of Captagon, hidden in a container at Port of Piraeus. Greek authorities, collaborating with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) representatives at the US embassy in Athens, also seized another two containers.

The three boxes were from Latakia, Syria. Their final destination was China. 20 pallets of Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) were included in each one.

During the investigation, a hidden shipment of Captagon was founded in one of the three containers, which included a total of 10,018,260 pills weighing 1,590 kilos.

It’s the largest drugs seizure of all time in Greece and one of the largest in Europe.

The investigation of the other two containers is ongoing. There is also investigation on people involved in the shipment.
