“25000 Box Container Ship Type Development” project gets the green light from all the involved sides. According to Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute (SSSRI), the Shanghai Ship Transportation Science Research Institute held a project acceptance meeting, on March 8, 2019.
According to a statement, the acceptance expert group consisting of the CSS Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry heard the mega-container ship project of the Ministry of Shipping Technology and Safety. The group’s implementation report, reviewed relevant materials, formed a review and acceptance opinion through consultation, agreed to pass the acceptance, and gave high praise to the work of the project team.

The above project is a part of “Innovative Special Project for Super Large Container Ships of 20,000 Boxes or More”, managed by Chinese government.
“The above super large container ship innovation chain meets the strategic requirements of “Made in China 2025″”, says SSSRI in its press release.
“With the development of container ships entering the era of ultra-large container ships of 20,000 boxes or more, the special science and technology project of super-large container ships of 20,000 or more boxes can provide high-end equipment for the strategy of “building a maritime power” and the “One Belt, One Road” strategy,” it adds.
