Introduction Located in the South Korean Strait, west of the Luodong River, confronting Japan with Malaysia, it is Korea's largest port and the fifth largest container port. Founded in 1876, it developed rapidly in the early 20th century due to the opening of the Beijing-Bus Railway. It is not only the hub of sea, land and air transportation in Korea, but also the financial and commercial center. It plays an important role in Korea's foreign trade. Industry is second only to Seoul, including textile, automobile tires, petroleum processing, machinery, chemical industry, food, wood processing, aquatic products processing, shipbuilding and automobile, among which machinery industry is particularly developed, while shipbuilding and tire production ranks first in Korea, aquatic products export occupies an important position in export trade. The port is about 28km away from the airport. The port has a temperate monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 29-31 C in summer and - 7-9 C in winter. The annual average rainfall is about 1500mm. It belongs to a regular semi-diurnal tidal harbor with little tidal difference. It does not exceed 1.2m in big flood season and 0.3m in small flood season. Loading and unloading equipment includes various shore cranes, door cranes, movable cranes, container cranes, floating cranes, belt conveyors, shiploaders and ro-ro facilities, among which the maximum lifting capacity of floating cranes is 100 tons. The maximum power of the tugboat is 2354 kW. Loading and unloading efficiency: 600 tons of coal per hour, 1000 tons of groceries per day. In recent years, the annual growth rate of Korea's imports and exports of goods by sea has reached about 20%, almost all of which are imported and exported from Pusan Port. The container terminal of the port plays a backbone role. It has a large gantry container handling bridge with an area of 630,000 m <2>. The container yard area is 380,000 m<2>. There are about 2,000 container ships docked here every year, including those from 700 to 800TEU and up to 3000TEU. The wharf can carry out loading and unloading operations for four large container ships with a capacity of 50,000 tons at the same time. In the absence of holidays throughout the year, that is, 24 hours of uninterrupted operation throughout the year, the average daily loading and unloading of 4-5 container ships. Container throughput reached 3.75 million TEUs in 1994, an increase of 22.1% over 1993. The main export goods of the port are industrial machinery, aquatic products, electronics, petrochemical products, textiles and so on. The import goods mainly include crude oil, grain, coal, coke, raw cotton, raw sugar, aluminium, logs and chemical raw pulp. During holidays, if there are special circumstances, you can apply for overtime in advance. The port can undertake various ship repairs, and the largest dry dock can accommodate 150,000 tons of ships.
