The tidal current in Beilun Port is mostly reciprocating flow. The designed flow speed of the 200,000-ton Ore Wharf is 1.50 m/s of high tide, 298 degrees of low tide, 2.0 m/s of low tide and 114 degrees of low tide. Waves: Ningbo and Zhenhai Port Areas are all inland rivers without waves. Beilun Port Area is surrounded by Zhoushan Archipelago as a natural barrier with small waves and no need to build breakwaters. Navigation information Channel: Ningbo Port has two entry channels: North Channel, through Yongjiang Estuary, Qiliyu Island, Dahaoshan to Yangtze Estuary, through 25,000 tons of ships. The South Channel, which is imported from the shrimp gate of Zhoushan Islands, reaches Beilun Port Area directly through the Luotou Channel and Jintang Channel. Except for the shallow section with a depth of 17.6 meters, which is about 3 kilometers outside the Shrimp Gate, the water depth of the South Channel is more than 20 meters. Ships of less than 150,000 tons can enter and leave freely, and ships of 200,000 tons can wait for tides to enter the port.
